How does the strory end?

Once upon a time only things with feet could leave footprints; these days anything and everything can leave a footprint including all the products we buy.

You’ve probably heard of a ‘carbon footprint’, it’s to do with the amount of harmful gas that is released into the atmosphere from doing stuff like driving in a car, generating electricity or manufacturing a tin of beans. Pretty much everything we do requires energy and producing this energy is often what emits carbon.

According to scientists, these harmful gases are making our planet get warmer which is causing bad things to happen such as more extreme weather, higher rainfall, droughts and flooding. Many people are saying that to avoid all these bad things we have to start trying to make our carbon footprints a lot smaller.

All the products featured on Caretrace have a carbon footprint. This footprint includes everything involved in the life of the product including (if it’s a fruit) when it was grown, when it was harvested, when it was packed, when it was delivered, when it was stored, when it was bought, when it was eaten and when the packaging and waste were thrown away.

Every single step has an impact which is why it is so important that we try to reduce each of these impacts as far as possible so that we can make our planet better.

All the people involved in making Caretrace products are trying hard to make their footprints smaller, but the last part of the story is down to you. How you dispose of your product and how far you travel to buy your product has an impact. Even if you really love your Caretrace product enough to travel hundreds of miles, we wouldn’t recommend it! And if you have to throw any part of your product away, try to recycle as much as you can. Throwing stuff into rubbish dumps or ‘landfill’ sites can actually contribute more to harmful emissions than the entire process of manufacturing it!

The final chapter of the story is down to you.
